Quickly verify loan out Articles of Incorporation during onboarding

You can now require loan out corporations to provide Articles of Incorporation (AOI) or a Certificate of Incorporation (COI) during onboarding, making it simple to verify if a loan out is valid.

From Company Settings, select Loan Out Setting under Project Preferences.

  • By selecting Yes, Loan Outs will be required to upload an AOI/COI. The AOI/COI will be viewable in Projects > People. Select “View” for a specific Worker and locate the line item “Loan Out information''. Here you can view the company name, federal tax classification, EIN and view the AOI/COI.
  • By selecting No, Loan Outs will not be required to upload an AOI during onboarding.

A few things to note:

  • Whether or not you require an AOI/COI, all loan outs will need to attest to the fact that they, as the loan out worker, are authorized to work in the US to complete the onboarding process.
  • If you require an AOI/COI for your project and the worker does not upload the document, they will not be onboarded and therefore will not be paid until they complete the onboarding process.

Travel Days can now be set per-worker

When managing a project with union-affiliated workers, you now have two options for managing travel days. Once travel days have been enabled, workers can designate time as Travel Only in the Day Type drop-down menu on their timecards.

  1. Enable Travel Days for all new workers onboarded to your project by default. For new projects, select Create New Project and underTravel Days turn the toggle on. If you're editing an existing project, navigate to View Project > Settings and click Edit next to Travel Days.
  2. Enable Travel Days for specific workers only from within their Worker Profile. Navigate to the profile of the crew member who should have travel days enabled. Under Worker Details > Travel Days select Edit. Scroll down to Travel Days and select the toggle to enable travel days.

New York Interest Assessment Surcharge

In July 2022, New York implemented an Interest Assessment Surcharge (IAS) to pay the interest for their Federal loan, which covered unemployment claims partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By law, employers doing business in New York are required to make annual IAS payments until the interest has been paid in full.

The current 2022 IAS rate is 0.23%, which Wrapbook will add to its New York State Unemployment Insurance Tax rate as of October 1, 2022, and cap at the state’s maximum wage base annually.

For more information, read the announcement from the New York Department of Labor.

Data is power. But most production companies still rely on a paymaster to provide the reports necessary to effectively manage their jobs.

With Wrapbook, you now have on-demand access to the data you need to understand payroll expenses, answer questions and report to stakeholders, in real time.

You can now view and export the following reports for any payroll batch, at any time:

  • Invoice Fee Summary: A summary view of the total employer cost for a specific payroll.
  • Employer Cost Report: A breakdown of costs to the employer per worker, including wages, taxes, and fringes. Also known as a Fringe Recap Report.
  • Cost Code Report: A view of the employer costs per worker, grouped by cost code (also known as line number).
  • Payment Register Report: A list of the checks and direct deposits made to workers in a particular payroll, with corresponding wages, deductions made, and net pay.
  • Payroll Register Report: A detailed view of payment information for each worker, including wages, and deductions made from the worker’s paycheck.

From any Wrapbook project, select Run Payroll and then select the payroll batch in question. Reports are located on the bottom left next to the payroll summary.
